Yvonne Lieu

Yvonne graduated from University of the Pacific where she majored in Business Law and Political Science, and she received her Juris Doctorate from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly University of California Hastings). Yvonne is passionate about helping people through difficult times in their lives and making the law more accessible to others. During law school, she interned at Family Violence Law Center (FVLC). At FVLC, she assisted low-income domestic violence survivors obtain restraining orders against their abusers. From there, she developed her interest in family law and assisting domestic violence survivors. She strengthened her writing and research skills by becoming a judicial extern for the Honorable Kathleen M. Banke at the Court of Appeal, First Appellate District, and then later for the Honorable Sean P. Dabel at the San Mateo County Superior Court, Family Law Division. Her practical experience has taught her to approach cases with patience and empathy, while also being an advocate for clients.

During her time in law school, Yvonne served as the Vice President of Technology on the Hastings Law Journal and Vice President of the Vietnamese American Law Society. She was also involved in the Hastings Family Law Association and the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association.

In her free time, Yvonne enjoys bouldering, spending time with her pets, and going to craft fairs.
